Frank Gehry

This is the Frank Gehry in the DZ Bank in Pariser Platz. It's gigantic. To get a sense of the size, look at the rectangle openings on the right. A person's height is not even 1/2 of one of those rectangles.

I prefer the Guggenheim in Bilbao, but Gehry says this is his best work.

The Ramones Museum in Kreuzberg

I'd like to know what constitutes a Ramones "urgent case."

"Well, personally, I kind of want to slay the dragon."

I think the details on this sculpture are amazing, especially the faces on the dragon and the horse. It's located just off the River Spree, near Alexander Platz.

S-Bahn

This is my friend Harold (from the Netherlands) and me in my silly Orange hat. He said it's a good Dutch hat. We're on the S-Bahn on our way home from sightseeing.

Harold helped me with my German pronunciation. I was trying to say "Strasse" and he said "your 'r' is too loud." I said, "My everything is too loud!" He agreed. Harold also thought I was a few years younger than I am, which was a compliment. But, he also agreed that I do not act my age ;-)

The odd silver structure on the left hand of the photo without me is the DZ Bank and the top of the Frank Gehry.

Feels like San Francisco

This is Friesen Strasse in Kreuzberg. These residential apartments were built in the 19th century and were considered tenement housing at that time. Throughout this neighborhood, the buildings are painted in beautiful colors. This street is on a hill, so with the the tall apartment buildings, it felt a bit like San Francisco. However, this is much older, so I liked it more.

Bicycle

This is also on Friesen Strasse.

Kaiser Wilhelm Gedaechtniskirche

Inside Kaiser Wilhelm Kirche

Unity

This sculpture is between the Kaiser Wilhelm Gedaechtniskirche and Wittenberg Platz. It represents unity. The arms are intertwined, but never touch.
